The future lies in the youth of our world. Hence empowering youth for a better future is important. The youth support for the ones that have disabilities is also to be considered. Because they are also a part of our world and our future and they should not be neglected.
What is Youth Support?
Youth support provides support to people aged 18-24 on different levels as they are required. The support is planned accordingly to provide support for achieving goals. These support offers are for people from disadvantaged or vulnerable backgrounds.
The support activities include engaging in a range of activities which will build skills to achieve meaningful and realistic goals. There will also be help from mentors to build new life skills, learn new experiences and create new friendships.
Steps to overcome challenges
Spot the challenges
Youth faces many challenges in the area of mental health and educational areas. They will need extra guidance to push to the future they deserve. Understanding all the challenges they face is the first step that someone who wants to help them can take.
Mental Health mentoring
As a person with disabilities, they will need more guidance in the mental health area. Helping them to tackle the issues they face and nurture them accordingly is important. As a society, we have to provide the support they need so that they will overcome the challenges they face.
Education is a milestone
Providing proper education to the youth is everyone's right! Youth support works towards the agenda to provide proper and equal education opportunities to all. This can include, deciding what they want to study, what are their challenges etc.
Skill development and vocational training
Empowering youth with practical skills will enhance their working ability. Vocational training in various fields from technology to craftsmanship, makes them expert to work in a space with confidence. Skill development programs will nurture generations of skilled workers.
Promoting Entrepreneurship
Creating an entrepreneurial mindset also comes under youth empowerment. Under Youth support, they mentor accordingly to create an entrepreneurial mindset.

The intensive mentoring program aims to provide learning opportunities for students who need support in overcoming the obstacles faced by curriculum and other barriers and to achieve their full potential. The programme aims to allow and guide students to have self-esteem and self-awareness and prepare them for the responsibilities of adult life. Mentoring is a space where the student will be given full support and guidance and discuss the fears without any judgment or punishment and discuss those that are important to the mentee.
The Intensive Learning Mentor meets their mentees every once a week for 30-60 minutes. They work with the most vulnerable or needy students and they examine the mentee closely and liaise with DSD’s, outside agencies and families.
Anyone sure that they need help should go for youth support and all your problems will be tackled.
